Headline: Dushanbe hosts a meeting of the Joint Collegium of the MIA of Russia and the Republic of Tajikistan
The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation General of Police Vladimir Kolokoltsev and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan militia Lieutenant-General Ramazon Rahimzoda together with members of the Joint Collegium discussed the activities of countering extremism and terrorism, as well as the improvements in the joint activities.
Vladimir Kolokoltsev noted the operational information exchange currently established with the Tajik colleagues. In the past and in the first quarter of this year in Russia the police detained 54 defendants wanted by law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan. In addition, there continues the accumulation of practical experience in solving and investigating grave and especially grave crimes and finding wanted criminals.
During the discussion, there was raised the issue of optimizing the investigation of crimes that require joint efforts. This will become possible thanks to the ratification of the Agreement on the establishment and operation of joint investigative task groups on the territories of the CIS member states signed in 2015.
The Chief of the Russian MIA stressed that the implementation of the decisions taken by the annual meetings of the Joint Collegium greatly contributed to the strategy and tactics of countering the transnational crime, to the improvement of criminal situation in the two countries.
