Last weekend Apatity hosted a tournament of amateur hockey teams dedicated to the memory of Sergei Tarasov a player of the hockey club “Apachi”. The ice arena for the tournament was provided by the Apatity Palace of Sports “Yunost”.

The tournament was attended by four teams – “Apachi” (Apatit), “Steel Hawks” (Olenegorsk) hockey club “Hephaestus” (Monchegorsk) and a team of the MIA Inter-District Division “Apatitsky” called “MIA-51”.

The team of police officers, created a few months ago, adequately acted on the ice, but lost to more experienced players of the “Apachi” team in the game for third place with a score of 3:1. The first place in the tournament was taken by the team “Steel Hawks” of Olenegorsk.

At the end of the tournament award ceremony took place. Winners and participants received prizes and diplomas.

As has been noted by the head coach of the police team Arkady Alekhin, police officers are distinguished by discipline and the will to win. The “MIA-51” team intends to actively train to achieve better results among Apatity hockey amateurs.
