Headline: 1-2 June: Security Research Event 2016
On Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 June, the European Commission will hold the Security Research Event 2016 in The Hague.
The Security and Research Event 2016 will focus on the role security research can play in fostering the implementation of EU policies and will explore how priorities can be transformed into concrete security research projects. The Commission will also present the financial support which the European Union’s research and innovation funding programme Horizon 2020 can offer to support research and innovation projects.
The event will bring together key stakeholders from industry, academia andpublic service, including project coordinators with hands-on experience at grass root level.
As part of the event, a conference will discuss how security research supports the implementation of the European Agendas on Security and on Migration. Panel discussions will focus on the fight against radicalisation and terrorism, integrated border management, the fight against cybercrime and firearms, financial investigation, forensics, and space and security.
Security services and systems will be displayed in an exhibitors’ area. The Commission will showcase eight projects funded by the Seventh Frame Programme (FP7) Security Scheme.
Security Research Event 2016 is held by the European Commission within the Security Research and Innovation Event on 1 and 2 June 2016 in The Hague.
