Headline: International Conference on the Problems of Small Business Took Place in Minsk
International conference “From Big State to Small Business: Basic Principles of Structural Transformations” took place in Minsk on May 30.
The event was organized by the Analytical Center “Strategy” and the Expert Council of the United Civil Party (UCP). It was attended by the former Prime Minister of Lithuania (2008-2012) Andrius Kubilius, the head of the Analytical Center “Strategy” Leonid Zaiko, director of the Scientific-Research Mises Center Jaroslav Romanchuk, leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka, entrepreneurs from different Belarusian regions.
The first session of the conference “The formation, development and success of small business in Lithuania” was devoted to the development of small business in Lithuania, problems of small business in the 1990s and now, special (tax, customs, labor, administrative and financial conditions for the development of small businesses, the contribution of small business in GDP, employment, budgeting (national and local).
The second session was devoted to the development of entrepreneurship in Belarus, its challenges and features. Main speakers of the session were the Chairperson of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Trade Union “Together” Irina Yaskevich, director of the analytical center of the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship Anatoly Zmitrovich and economist Lev Margolin.
