Headline: Man suspected of organizing heroin transportation in sacks with dried fruit was detained by Moscow police
“As a result of implementation of the received information, policemen of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Administration of Internal Affairs for the Central Administrative District of the Russian MIA General Administration for Moscow detained members of a gang involved in the organization of a drug supply channel,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
In the course of the “test purchase”, policemen detained a woman born in Central Asia for the sale of 30 grams of heroin. The police searched the place of her residence on Fabriciuss Street and found 105 polyethylene packets with a powdery substance weighing 315 grams.
Later, as a result of investigation and search operations on Novaya Basmannaya Street, the police detained a man born in Central Asia who had 93 packets with 300 grams of heroin confiscated by policemen.
The police searched the garage rented by the malefactor in Kaluga and detected 80 sacks with dried fruit that contained 200 packets with heroin, its weight totaling 1 kilogram.
“The police initiated a criminal case on that fact based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Part 4 Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal production, distribution or carriage of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, as well as illegal distribution or carriage of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, or their parts containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances perpetrated by an organized group in a large amount,” Irina Volk added.
Restraint in the form of remand was imposed on the suspects.
