“Specialists of the Russian MIA General Administration for Drug Control together with policemen of the Russian MIA Administration for Khimki of the Moscow Region detained an active member of a drug trafficking group involved in distribution of Afghan heroin smuggled into the Russian Federation through Central Asia,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
The police confiscated about 1 kilogram and 300 grams of heroin from a 19-year old citizen of a near-abroad country.
As the drug dealer was detained, policemen detected that she had a packed batch of drugs weighing 100 grams. Packets of about 5 grams were intended to be sold through so called “caches”.
Later, as a result of the search carried out at the detained woman’s place of residence, the police seized another 1 kilogram and 200 grams of heroin. The total retail cost of the confiscated drugs at “black” market prices exceeds 2 million rubles.
A criminal case was initiated against the suspect according to Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The malefactor was remanded in custody.
