Headline: Car stolen 4 years before in Western Europe was detected by Traffic Police in Saint Petersburg
Inspectors of Interdistrict Registration and Examination Department No. 17 who examined the car for registration purposes revealed that its data did not comply with the submitted documents. As was found, the foreign-made car had been stolen in 2012 and had been searched by the Interpol.
In August 16, 2016 at about 02:00 PM, a 28-year old woman applied to Interdistrict Registration and Examination Department No. 17 of the Traffic Police at 24 Laboratorny Prospect to register a Porsche Panamera 4.
When the Traffic Police inspectors examined that car, the authenticity of the vehicle identification number raised doubts. Besides, the dark-brown Porsche was specified as black in the documents. The check with a scanner revealed the VIN not conforming to the submitted documents. As was established, the said car had been searched by the Interpol since October 2012 as stolen in a Western European country.
The car and the materials on that fact were delivered to the territorial police division of the Kalininsky District of Saint Petersburg for further check.
