Headline: – Premiere in Brussels

DLDeurope focuses on the latest topics keeping Europe on its toes: The consequences of Brexit, the tense situation in Turkey following the attempted coup and the security situation in Europe. However, the conference will also concentrate in particular on innovation and digital topics such as cybersecurity and Privacy Shield, entrepreneurship in Europe, the disruption of bureaucracy and Europe’s digital future.

“DLD looks at how digital technologies are changing our society. At DLDeurope, we want to talk about how digitality can carry the European idea further and load it with positive inspiration.”

Steffi Czerny, DLD managingdirector and founder

“Our DLD conferences have always focused on linking ideas and people to achieve a better understanding of the future and shape it together. It is therefore important for us to network closely with other organisations that enrich our conference with great expertise in their respective fields.”

Dominik Wichmann, DLD managing director and editor-in-chief

DLDeurope’s partners include the Global Counsel which is headquartered in London working with clients to navigate the critical area between business, politics and policymaking. It will organize a panel during the conference on Brexit and its consequences for the European Union. Similarly, the Munich Security Conference – a central global forum for debating security policy topics – will curate a discussion on “Digitality and security”. Politico, one of the most influential magazines in the Brussels administrative district, is also a partner of DLDeurope.

DLDeurope attendees can expect a varied programme and an international line-up from the worlds of politics, business, media and culture. The DLD stage will welcome speakers such as Günther Oettinger (European Commission), Ann-Kristin Achleitner (Professor at the Technical University of Munich) and Ann Mettler, who runs a think tank at the EU Commission, as well as Frank Briegmann (President of Central Europe at Universal Music, the world’s largest record company), Peter Verhoeven (Managing Director of Europe at booking.com) and bestselling Turkish author Elif Shafak. The global player Facebook, Uber and Microsoft will also be present.
