At about 05:00 PM, the Duty Unit of the Police Division for Abaza received a telephone call. An anxious woman said that her husband had gone mushrooming in the morning to the area near the Abazin pass. Recently, he called and told her that he had suddenly felt sick and was unable to move.
The information was reported to the Russian MIA Division for the Tashtypsky District. The police promptly formed a search group from among criminal investigation officers, precinct police officers and a dog expert with a search dog. The group arrived to the area where the helpless man was staying.
Within an hour and a half, the mushroomer was found. He was in the taiga near the Abazin pass, five kilometers away from Abaza.
In the course of a simple examination, it became clear that the sufferer was unable to move – the man was paralyzed. The policemen carried the mushroomer out from the taiga and delivered him to the municipal hospital in Abaza. The 70-year old man is currently supervised by doctors.
