Headline: Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus A.Dapkiunas participates in the event on the occasion of the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust
On January 27, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, took part in the event, which was dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, at the National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre. Under the guidance of an Israeli conductor the composition “Requiem” by Giuseppe Verdi was performed by the Theater’s orchestra and choir.
At the opening of the event, A.Dapkiunas read out the address by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Makei, in memory of the millions of victims of the Holocaust. In his message, the Belarusian Foreign Minister paid special attention to the initiative of the President of Belarus on the new Helsinki process aimed at renewal of an interstate dialogue, consolidation of countries regionally and internationally to find an effective formula of peaceful coexistence in conditions of growing regional and global tension.
The event was attended by ambassadors and diplomats from a number of countries, as well as representatives of state bodies and the Jewish community.
