Polish President Andrzej Duda told the Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Warsaw on Monday that “today, maybe even more than ever, we should be aiming at improving the political climate of Transatlantic relations.””North American-European ties are key to ensuring security of the Euro-Atlantic region. They are the foundation of NATO’s activity, the foundation of its strength and its effectiveness,” the President emphasised.

“Today, maybe even more than ever, we should be aiming at improving the political climate of Transatlantic relations,” the Polish head of state stressed.

According to President Duda, the improvement of political climate of these relations also depends on national parliaments, especially when the growth of defence spending is one of the most significant elements of the alliance’s cohesion.

“A stable and secure Europe is the best American investment ever made in history,” President Duda said, adding that “the development of a common EU security and defence policy, and the intensification of EU cooperation with the alliance is in our mutual interest.”

President Andrzej Duda expressed hope during the Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Warsaw on Monday, that the alliance’s summit in July will be “an occasion for a serious debate on the further strengthening of cooperation with Ukraine and Georgia.”

A stable and secure Europe is the world’s best American investment ever made in history, Andrzej Duda said on Monday. The development of a common EU security and defence policy, and the intensification of EU cooperation with the alliance is in our mutual interest, he added. (PAP)
