In Achinsk, based on the materials of a criminal case investigated by the police, a guilty verdict has been passed against a local resident who is accused of a false report of a hijack of an expensive car for obtaining insurance.
Recall that at the end of last year, a 34-year-old man applied to a police duty-unit with a statement on the theft of a Chevrolet car parked in a courtyard in a residential microdistrict. The amount of damage caused exceeded 800 thousand rubles.
During the pre-investigation check, the police found that the information provided by the man was untrue, despite the fact that when filing the application the victim had been warned about criminal responsibility for giving knowingly false information.
During operative-search activities, the police found out that the stolen car was insured and the victim, for the purpose of illegally obtaining the insurance, in the amount of about 920 thousand rubles, for a hijacked vehicle, hid the car in a specially purchased garage box, after which reported deliberately false information to the police.
Investigators of the MIA of Russia Inter-municipal Division “Achinsky” initiated a criminal case on the grounds of the crime provided for in part 1 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Knowingly false report”, as well as in part 1 of Article 159.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud in the field of insurance”.
Having examined the materials of the case, the court ruled to impose a punishment in the form of 160 hours of compulsory labor.
