On May 30, 2018 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, met the delegation of members of the “Foreign Policy Network” of the German Körber Foundation, who are on an information visit to Belarus from May, 30 to June, 1.
The Körber Foundation is one of Germany’s leading think tanks in foreign policy. The “Foreign Policy Network”, which functions within the framework of the fund, unites young professionals in the international sphere. Annually since 2005, the Foundation organizes working trips to countries “of particular importance for German foreign policy.”
The delegation included officials of the Office of the Federal Chancellor of Germany, the Bundestag Administration, a number of federal ministries and departments, representatives of analytical structures, diplomatic corps accredited in Berlin. The German Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Belarus, Peter Dettmar, also took part in the meeting at the Foreign Ministry.
In his speech, V.Makei characterized the main priorities of the Belarusian foreign policy, detailed the foreign policy initiatives of the President of the Republic of Belarus aimed at promoting the ideas of partnership of integration associations, renewing the pan-European dialogue in the sphere of security, touching on the issues of cooperation between Belarus and the EU and the development of Belarusian-German relations.
The Belarusian Foreign Minister answered a number of questions, confirmed the interest of the Belarusian side in continuing constructive cooperation with the Körber Foundation.
