On May 31, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, partiipated in the traditional solemn event “Sustainable Development Goals for Children” dedicated to the International Children’s Day.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus together with the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the National Coordinator for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Representatives of the governmental bodies, Parliament, Heads of many diplomatic missions accredited in Belarus took part in the event together with their families and children.
The main participants of the holiday were pupils of Belarusian schools and the Republican Rehabilitation Center for disabled children, children from orphanages, and children with special needs.
In his statement at the event, A.Dapkiunas stressed that the interests of the child are a clear priority of the state policy in Belarus. The Deputy Minister urged all national and international partners to further unite their efforts to promote the interests and ensure the rights of children and adolescents. A.Dapkiunas paid special attention to the work on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, as an essential tool for ensuring a safer and brighter future for the younger generation.
