That day, policeman Vladislav Knyazev, walking along the Podvornoye lake shore near village Kondakovka, noticed an unattended motorbike, an empty boat in the lake and a man clinging onto the edge of the boat. Police Major rushed into the water to rescue the drowning man and dragged him out onto the lake shore. The policeman provided first aid to the sufferer and called an ambulance.
As was found out later on, the 82-year old local had decided to fish from the boat and had suddenly fallen out into the water. Due to his age, he was unable to get back and hoped to be rescued. The pensioner had been in the water for a long period of time until he was noticed by the attentive police officer,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
