As part of the celebration of the 400th anniversary of Novokuznetsk, a meeting was held with participation of the assistant to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia, a member of the Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Chairman of the Russian Council of Veterans of Internal Affairs and Internal Troops Colonel-General Ivan Shilov and veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Novokuznetsk. The event was attended by the Chief of the MIA of Russia GA for the Kemerovo Region, Major-General of Police Igor Ivanov and the personnel of the Novokuznetsk police garrison.
Ivan F. Shilov congratulated the audience on the 300th anniversary of the Russian police and the 400th anniversary of the city of Novokuznetsk, wished them a meritorious service, success and prosperity. He expressed gratitude to the police for professionalism and responsibility in law enforcement in Novokuznetsk.
Separate words of gratitude were addressed to veterans of the internal affairs bodies. General Shilov noted their contribution to the patriotic upbringing of the younger generation of Kuzbass and their comprehensive assistance to current police officers. Chiefs of the units of the MIA of Russia Administration for Novokuznetsk and veterans were awarded medals “For Merit”, “For active work on patriotic education” and “100 years of the Soviet militia”, memorable gifts, diplomas and letters of thanks.
Chairman of the Russian Council of Veterans of Internal Affairs and Internal Troops Ivan Shilov took part in the festive program: along with other guests of honor, he attended the opening of the monument to the pioneers of Kuznetsk land, as well as the solemn meeting in honor of the 400th anniversary of Novokuznetsk.
