On July 20, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Belarus, Leena Salim Moazzam.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, in particular, the exchange of visits at the level of the Head of Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Pakistan, the development of trade and economic cooperation, as well as the preparation of the next session of Belarus-Pakistan Commission on trade and economic cooperation.
Special attention was paid to the importance of intensification of cooperation through the inter-ministerial working groups in the fields of industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science and education in order to substantially increase trade turnover between the two countries and launch new promising trade and economic projects.
Prior to the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Pakistan in February 2019, the parties considered joint steps for organizing a number of Belarusian-Pakistani events to mark this auspicious occasion.
