The Investigation Unit of the General Investigation Administration of the Russian MIA General Administration for the Krasnodar Territory accomplished the investigation of the criminal case initiated against an employee of one of the regional universities based on elements of a crime under part 4 Article 159 “Fraud” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigators, the 54-year old resident of Krasnodar holding an executive position at a university had obtained funds in the form of a subsidy for carrying out an educational program and, abusing her job position, concluded a contract with an organization. Later, the suspect fulfilled a part of the conditions for carrying out the events within the program and stole over 2 million rubles allocated as a subsidy.
With the operations support of the Russian FSB Administration for the Krasnodar Territory, the woman was detained. By now, the preliminary investigation has been completed. The materials of the criminal case have been forwarded to the court for consideration on the merits. The sanctions under the incriminated article provide for up to ten-year imprisonment.
