Today, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Colonel-General Aleksandr Gorovoy, took part in a meeting of the extended Collegium of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow, where the work in the first half of 2018 was summed up and tasks for the upcoming period were determined.
The event, under the chairmanship of the Chief of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow, Lieutenant-General Oleg Baranov, was attended by the Moscow City Prosecutor, the State Counselor of Justice of the 2nd class, Vladimir Churikov, Acting Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Regional Security in the Moscow City Government Vladimir Chernikov, representatives of other law enforcement agencies, and also the leadership of the Moscow police garrison.
The meeting was opened by the Chief of the Moscow GA Oleg Baranov, who noted that the staff of the Moscow police had strengthened a number of positive trends. They managed to reduce the level of crime, without complication of the criminal situation. More than 25 thousand crimes have been investigated, of which grave and especially grave crimes make about 10 thousand, crimes against the person – almost 2.5 thousand.
The Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Colonel-General Aleksandr Gorovoy, described positively the work of the Moscow police in the first half of 2018 as follows: “In the conditions of a limited number of personnel, you coped with all the tasks set, including large-scale mass events”. He also identified priority areas for strengthening law and order, discipline and the rule of law.
During the solemn part of the meeting, more than 60 MIA officers of the capital were awarded state and departmental awards.
Over the past period, almost 8,500 economic crimes have been revealed, 3,000 of which had been committed by organized groups and criminal communities. A special emphasis in the work was made on solving economic crimes committed in a large and especially large amount. The reimbursed damage exceeded 20 billion rubles.
As part of the fight against illicit drug trafficking, officers of the Metropolitan Police seized over 500 kilograms of narcotic, psychotropic and potent substances during the reporting period. 1015 leaders and active participants of organized groups were identified.
More than one and a half million foreign citizens and stateless persons have got the migration registration in Moscow. The police revealed more than 3 thousand foreigners who had committed crimes, and more than 52 thousand foreigners – who committed administrative violations referring to the migration legislation.
Over 13 thousand people were expelled outside of Russia. Over six months in Moscow, more than 14 thousand mass events took place where the number of participants exceeded 20 million people. The most significant events were the presidential elections in Russia, the All-Russian action “Immortal Regiment” and the FIFA World Cup 2018. The operational situation remained stable and controlled.
