Today in Buenos Aires (Argentina), the delegation of the MIA of Russia headed by State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov took part in the 11th Summit of AMERIPOL, a continental international police organization, which includes 18 countries of Latin America.
Participants of the event discussed current issues of developing a set of law enforcement measures. The application of the Russian Federation to obtain observer status in the organization was also considered, and approved by open voting.
Within the framework of the visit, Igor Zubov held a working meeting with the head of the Argentine Ministry of Security, Patricia Bullrich, where he confirmed the need to join efforts for ensuring an integrated approach to combating crime. Following the results of the bilateral meeting, the participants signed an agreement on cooperation between the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Security of the Argentine Republic.
At the invitation of President of the AMERIPOL, the head of the Argentine National Gendarmerie Gerardo José Otero, Igor Zubov took part in the solemn event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the creation of the Argentine National Gendarmerie.
