“Officers of the MIA of Russia GA for Criminal Investigation (CI) in cooperation with colleagues from the city of Moscow and the FSB of Russia with the power support from Rosgvardia detained members of a group suspected of organizing illegal migration of foreign citizens into the territory of the Russian Federation,” said the official representative of the MIA of Russia Irina Volk.
It was established that the offenders for a monetary compensation made migration cards for foreigners on the basis of forged documents. Operatives, in the guise of potential buyers, purchased from the suspects the documents they offered. Based on the results of the examination, carried out by the Forensic Center of the FSB of Russia, all the documents were found to be fakes.
“As a result of operational search activities in the city of Moscow, five natives of a CIS country aged between 24 and 51 were detained at various addresses.
Investigators of the IA Administration for EAD of the MIA of Russia GA for the city of Moscow initiated a criminal case on the grounds of the crime provided for in part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” said Irina Volk.
During the searches at the addresses of the suspects and in their rented office located in one of the hostels of the capital, 6 passports of foreign citizens, 19 blank forms of migration cards, more than 40 seals of various companies, date stamps of the Border Check points of the FSB of Russia and the Republic of Kazakhstan, various seals of units of the Federal Migration Service of Russia and the MIA of Russia GA for Migration Issues on receipt of documents, registration of a migrant, extension of migrant’s registration, as well as computer and copying equipment were found and seized. 
“With respect to two detainees, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody, three are under a written undertaking of not to leaving the place and of proper conduct.
Measures are being taken to identify other participants in the organized group and to reveal additional episodes of their illegal activities,” added Irina Volk.
