Officers of the Administration for Drug Control of the MIA of Russia Administration for the Pskov Region detained four active members of an organized group. The suspects – residents of St. Petersburg in one of the villages of the Strugo-Krasnensky District of the Pskov Region organized the production of a psychotropic substance for subsequent marketing in the city on the Neva River and in the Leningrad Region.
As a result of the measures taken by the police, more than ten kilograms of amphetamine, as well as special equipment, reagents and other items used for the production of drugs, were seized from illegal trafficking.
A criminal case has been initiated based on part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for the illegal production and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances committed by an organized group on an especially large scale. The sanction of this part of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment. At the request of the investigative authorities, the court chose for all the suspect a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody.
