On August 30, 2018 Minsk hosted political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Bangladesh. The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Dapkiunas, the delegation of Bangladesh was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kamrul Ahsan.
The sides discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, current state and prospects for further development of Belarus-Bangladesh cooperation, including exchange of high-level visits and expanding bilateral legal framework.
Special attention was paid to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation, expansion of humanitarian ties, including exports of Belarusian machinery and educational services to Bangladesh. The sides exchanged views on the interaction between the two countries within the UN.
The head of the delegation of Bangladesh was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei.
The parties spoke in favor of a significant promotion of the entire range of bilateral relations, strengthening of their institutional mechanisms.
V.Makei and K.Ahsan also expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between Belarus and Bangladesh on multilateral platforms, including the UN.
The interlocutors discussed the implementation of the key joint projects in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, outlining a number of priority steps need to be taken for their launch.
