“Criminal investigation operatives of the MIA of Russia Administration for Sevastopol with the participation of Rosgvardia detained three suspects who, under the guise of employees of a real estate agency, fraudulently received money from citizens, offering them services of finding housing,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
“The offenders made fictitious contracts with customers, and then transferred to them contact details of several dummy tenants who represented themselves under fictitious names and reported false information about the property, and later did not answer calls. Their charged for their services 10,000 rubles,” I. Volk said.
180 persons have suffered from illegal activity of the swindlers. The total amount of damage exceeded 1,5 million rubles.
The Investigation Division of the MIA of Russia Administration for the Leninsky District of Sevastopol initiated a criminal case on the grounds of the crime provided for by part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. With respect to detainees, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody.
