Ladies and Gentlemen,
on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah I wish the entire Jewish community living in Poland lots of health, peace and happiness. In the Jewish tradition, the first days of the month of Tishri present a special opportunity to extend best wishes and to sum up the passing year. The symbolism of this time refers to deep reflection which bears the fruit of spiritual strengthening and instils hope for the future. Therefore, I am addressing you with my very warm words which Jewish people use as a greeting during these days: may you be inscribed and sealed for a good year. The centenary of Poland regaining her independence gives one more, exceptional dimension to today`s celebration. It unites us in commemorating that unique anniversary, highlighting the participation of Polish Jews in the fight for independence and in keeping the Republic of Poland free. May this jubilee be an opportunity for all of us to rejoice. May it unite us in the sense of pride of our entire history and heritage. From the bottom of my heart I wish: may the Jewish new year bring you all a lot of good.Shanah tovah! Happy New Year!
