The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies and the public, fully implemented a set of organizational and practical measures to ensure law-and-order and security during the preparation and holding of the Single Voting Day in the Russian Federation.
Public order at polling stations was ensured by 142,000 officers of law enforcement bodies, servicemen of the Federal Service of Troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, as well as 12,300 employees of private security organizations, 22,800 representatives of voluntary people’s squads and 3,300 representatives of the Cossacks.
As a result of the measures taken, no offences that could affect the results of the elections were allowed. After the closure of the polling stations, the police ensure the safe transportation of election documents to the territorial election commissions and will continue their work until the end of the vote count.
With regard to officers who performed official duties on the Single Voting Day, conditions were created for the exercise of their electoral rights.
Competent and professional actions of police officers were positively assessed by the leadership of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation and territorial election commissions.
