“On Vtoraya Staro-Arakchinskaya street officers of the Police Road Patrol Service of the MIA of Russia Administration for Kazan stopped a foreign-made car, in which there were two 28-year-old residents of the Moscow Region,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
“During the inspection of the car, several caches were found in different parts and mechanisms, in which there were various narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, namely: hashish, mephedron, cocaine, LCD, amphetamine. The total weight of the seized drugs was over 116 kilograms,” said Irina Volk.
The seized drugs were sent for studying to the Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan. On this fact, the Investigation Administration of the of the MIA of Russia Administration for Kazan instituted criminal proceedings on the basis of the offense provided for in part 3 of Article 30, part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The driver and the passenger of the car have been detained pursuant to Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. According to the available information, the defendants were couriers, and narcotic drugs were intended for distribution in a non-contact way in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny and Ufa.
