Officers of the Division for Drug Control of the MIA of Russia Inter-District Administration “Mytischinskoye” detained a previously convicted 51-year-old local resident, suspected of cultivating cannabis and distributing marijuana.
It was established that the offender equipped in one of the premises of his private house a specialized greenhouse, where he grew narcotic-containing plants. For that, the man bought seeds, fertilizers, heat lamps and other necessary equipment.
As a result of the search of the house and apartment of the offender, the police found and seized 24 plants, 2 glass jars and 38 bundles with a plant-derived substance, as well as two plastic containers with seeds. According to the results of the chemical study, it was found that the seized substances were hemp weighing more than a kilogram and marijuana weighing 12 grams.
The detainee explained that he used to cultivate cannabis for about two years with the aim of selling it in small lots on the territory of the district.
With regard to the suspect, the Investigative Administration of the MIA of Russia Inter-District Administration instituted criminal proceedings under Article 231 and Article 30, Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court selected for the defendant a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody.
