“Today, a 30-year-old resident of the Baryshskiy District of the Ulyanovsk Region, suspected of committing a traffic accident, in which a 14-year-old girl died and three more teenagers were injured, voluntarily appeared in the internal affairs bodies. The preliminary investigation authorities are carrying out the necessary investigative actions with him,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
On September 30, in the town of Barysh of the Ulyanovsk Region, the driver of a car hit underage pedestrians moving along the roadside, after which he fled from the scene. The next day, the police officers found a car with damages typical for such accidents.
“The investigating authorities of the MIA of Russia Inter-Municipal Division ‘Baryshskiy’ have instituted a criminal case on the grounds of the crime provided for in part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and a preliminary investigation is being conducted. The issue of choosing a preventive measure against the driver is being considered,” added Irina Volk.
