At the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia held a working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on cooperation in the fight against organized crime and terrorism.
The Russian delegation, composed of the officers of the GA for Criminal Investigation, Department of Records and Work with Citizens and Organizations, GA for Combating Extremism and the NCB of Interpol of the MIA of Russia, was headed by Deputy Chief of the Administration for Combating Organized Crime of General Character of the GA for Criminal Investigation of the MIA of Russia, Police Colonel Aleksandr Matveyev.
The Vietnamese delegation included officers from the Viet Nam Police Department for Investigation of Offences in the Sphere of Public Order Violations, headed by the Deputy Chief of the Department Le Ngoc Phuong.
The meeting participants informed each other about the priority areas of law enforcement in Russia and Vietnam. They also discussed joint activities in relation to the leaders and active participants of international organized criminal groups operating in the two countries.
In addition, the meeting addressed issues of cooperation in the fight against terrorism, as well as cooperation using the Interpol channels. Concrete practical measures have been outlined with regard to participants in organized groups specializing in organizing the illegal migration.
The event was held in the spirit of mutual understanding. The Parties expressed readiness for joint practical activities and stated a common understanding of contemporary challenges and threats.
During the visit, Vietnamese law enforcement officers familiarized themselves with the organization of the work of a duty-unit (situational center) of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow. As part of the cultural program, the guests visited the Museum of History of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department.
