MIA of Russia athletes won 265 medals at the VII European Police and Fire Games

“In the Spanish city of Algeciras, VII European Police and Fire Games ended. Representatives of the MIA of Russia team won 265 medals in various kinds of sports – 160 gold, 67 silver and 38 bronze,” said the official representative of the Russian MIA Irina Volk.
More than 120 athletes from divisions of the MIA central office and territorial bodies took part in the competition. Most of them returned to their homeland with medals.
“The most successful for our team were sports such as swimming, shooting, athletics and boxing. The leaders in the number of victories were two swimmers from the MIA of Russia Administration for the Ulyanovsk Region: Senior Warrant Officer Sergey Prokhorov (12 gold medals) and Senior Sergeant of Police Kira Volodina (10 gold medals). And the largest number of awards is on the account of Captain of Internal Service Victoria Zhuravel (MIA of Russia Administration for the Astrakhan Region). She won 18 medals in various athletics and service disciplines, 9 of which were gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze,” added Irina Volk.
All members of the Russian delegation noted the high level of organization of the Games.
