Vladimir Kolokoltsev held a solemn meeting dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the criminal investigation service

Today, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of the Police of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, held a solemn meeting devoted to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the criminal investigation service.
At the beginning of the event, the Minister read out the congratulations from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The Chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia stressed that throughout the history of its formation and development, the criminal investigation service was assigned with the key role in combating crime, protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens from criminal encroachments. “People come to this profession by vocation, give it all their strength. Every day you have to make difficult decisions in situations where there is no right for error. Therefore, there remain only strong in spirit, conscientious and dedicated people. Those who know well what real mutual assistance and a sense of responsibility are.”
The minister noted that the confidence of citizens that the crime will be solved and the guilty will be punished depends largely on the results of the work of the criminal investigation service. “And in order to achieve this goal, you do not spare your personal time, work with full dedication, and often risk your own life. Only in the last 15 years, in the performance of official duties, more than eight hundred of our comrades have died,” recalled Vladimir Kolokoltsev. Those present honored their memory with a minute of silence.
The MIA Chief said that a significant result of the work of the internal affairs bodies, including the thousands of criminal investigators, was a noticeable decrease in the level of criminal manifestations in the country. Special words of appreciation were addressed by Vladimir Kolokoltsev to veterans of the service for their great contribution to the strengthening of its human potential and a brilliant school of skills.
The Minister of Internal Affairs wished all the staff of the criminal investigation service further success in service, good health and well-being and expressed his words of gratitude to the families of police officers for supporting their loved ones in their difficult work.
At the end of the event, state and departmental awards were presented to distinguished officers of the central office and territorial divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
