“Officers of the GA for Economic Security and Combating the Corruption, together with colleagues from the Moscow Region, revealed the fact of unlicensed mining in the territory of the Ruzsky Urban District,” said the official representative of the Russian MIA Irina Volk.
“It was established that the offenders in the period from 2017 to the present time were engaged in the illegal mining of sand, gravel, stone, sand and gravel mix using excavators, bulldozers and other construction machines,” said Irina Volk.
According to the available information, mineral materials were subsequently sold on the territory of the Moscow Region. Exhausted quarry area of over 5 hectares is watered and swamped.
As a result of unauthorized use of subsoils, the offenders generated an income in excess of 10 million rubles.
Based on the revealed facts, the GA for Investigation of the MIA of Russia GA for the Moscow Region initiated a criminal case under paragraph “b” of part 2 of Article 171 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The four suspects have been detained, the court selected for them a preventive measure in the form of house arrest.
As a result of searches in office premises and at the place of residence of the defendants, documents, electronic data carriers were seized, and mining equipment was seized on the territory of the illegal quarry.
Measures to decriminalize the turnover of minerals continue.
