Today, the All-Russian Institute for Advanced Training of the MIA of Russia Officers held the opening ceremony of the All-Russian Meeting-seminar with chiefs of information centers of the territorial bodies of the MIA of Russia at the regional level on the following topic: “Improving the information support of internal affairs bodies and improving the quality of public services”.
The Meeting-seminar was opened by Deputy-Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Major-General Vitaly Shulika. The event was also attended by the Chief of the Federal Budget Institution GIATS (Main Information and Analytical Center) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Major-General of Internal Service Pavel Vazhev, Acting Chief of the Institute for Advanced Training of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Major-General Konstantin Yudin, chiefs of information centers of territorial bodies of the MIA of Russia, representatives of the prosecutor’s office and the Central Election Commission.
Vitaly Shulika noted the importance of reliable, objective information in the fight against crime. Today, information centers of the MIA of Russia territorial bodies are large units generating information files of the Agency without which effective counteraction to criminal manifestations is unthinkable.
The Deputy-Minister identified relevant problems in the organization of the activities of departmental information centers, listened to their chiefs and gave the necessary instructions to improve the performance. Special attention was focused on the quality of public services and on the reliability of statistics on the criminal situation.
The Chief of the Federal Budget Institution GIATS (Main Information and Analytical Center) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Major-General of Internal Service Pavel Vazhev, in his speech, analyzed topical issues of the performance of the information centers of territorial bodies of the MIA of Russia, which will be examined in more detail in the next two days within the sections.
Acting Chief of the Institute for Advanced Training of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Major-General of Police Konstantin Yudin addressed the participants of the Meeting-seminar with a welcoming speech and provided information on the areas of cooperation of the Institute with the GIATS of the MIA of Russia, the use of information resources of the GIATS of the MIA of Russia in the educational activities of the Institute.
During the Meeting-seminar, the participants discussed issues of effective information support for the activities of internal affairs bodies in the detection and investigation of crimes, ensuring public order; ways to improve the quality, completeness and reliability of information resources; the provision of public services; departmental control of compliance with the requirements of accounting and statistical discipline.
In memory of colleagues who died in the line of duty, a ceremony of laying a basket of flowers at the memorial monument to internal affairs officers, and a minute of silence, was held.
