In St. Petersburg at the Moscow railway station, the police solved a theft in fifteen minutes

Staff of the MIA of Russia Linear Administration for Transport in St. Petersburg, was addressed by a 37-year-old man who had discovered the loss of his travel backpack. The victim explained that he had two bags with him. He put the backpack next to himself. At the moment when he bent down to the second bag to check the documents and the ticket, an unknown man, unnoticed by the victim, stole the backpack.
After 15 minutes, police officers identified and detained a suspect – a native of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
It was established that the detainee had already been convicted for similar crimes a number of times. This time the suspect caused damage to a citizen in the amount of 23 thousand rubles.
In relation to the offender, a criminal case was initiated on grounds of a crime, provided for by part 2 of Article 158 of the RF Criminal Code “Theft”. This article presumes a maximum punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years.
