“Operatives of the MIA of Russia GA for the Moscow Region together with colleagues from the Khanty-Mansy Autonomous District detained the alleged organizer of a criminal community and his accomplice. The attackers were hiding in the garden plots in the suburbs of Moscow.
The detainees were on the international wanted list as part of a preliminary investigation of a criminal case instituted by investigators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Komi Republic under articles 210, 215.3, 158, 174 and 165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” said the official representative of the Russian MIA Irina Volk.
It was established that the defendants, through a side-pipe cut into the oil pipeline going through the territory of the Usinsky District of the Komi Republic, stole about 22 thousand tons of oil worth more than 290 million rubles.
“At night, gasoline tank trucks, into which hydrocarbon raw materials were pumped, drove up to the place of the illegal side-pipe. At the transshipment base, the oil was placed in containers of 40 cubic meters each dug into the ground. Subsequently, the oil under forged documents was transported by rail as gas condensate. The carrier organization suffered a damage amounting to more than 17.2 million rubles,” added Irina Volk.
“At present, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody in relation to the three leaders of the criminal organization and eight of their accomplices, 4 defendants are under a written undertaking not to leave the city, three are announced federally wanted,” said I. Volk.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case continues.
