A meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for the implementation of the State program to assist the voluntary resettlement to Russia of compatriots living abroad was held today under the chairmanship of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of the Police of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
The MIA of Russia Chief recalled the important events in the field of migration policy that occurred since the previous meeting – a new version of the corresponding Concept for 2019-2025 was approved, the sixth World Congress of Compatriots took place in Moscow.
“Today 69 regions participate in the implementation of the Program, 5 of them have started its implementation this year: Republics of Kalmykia and Komi, Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Vladimir and Kirov regions. In total, over 100 thousand people arrived in January-November,” noted Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
One of the important aspects for the majority of arrivals is housing. Proposals on this topic were earlier developed at the federal level and sent to the field. In October of this year, following the meeting of the Government of the Russian Federation, relevant instructions were given to the executive authorities of the RF constituent entities. The meeting participants discussed the results of work carried out in this direction, including the improvement of legislation.
In addition, during the event, issues related to the information support of the State Program, regional experience of implementing measures for resettlement of compatriots and proposals for amending the Rules for assigning the priority settlement status to territories of the Russian Federation were considered.
