The Russian MIA hosted a working meeting between Chief of the Russian MIA General Administration for Drug Control Police Lieutenant-General Andrey Khrapov and Chief of the Kyrgyz MIA Drug Control Service Bakyt Matmusaev and representatives of the Program Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Kyrgyzstan.
In the course of the discussion, the participants shared their opinions regarding the current drug situation in Russia and Kyrgyzstan, as well as in the Central Asia Region in general and the trends of its development.
The parties discussed urgent issues of anti-drug cooperation and emphasized the need to strengthen international cooperation to counteract new challenges and threats caused by illegal trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
At the end of the event, officers of the Russian MIA General Administration for Drug Control Police were granted the Kyrgyz MIA’s awards for work aiming at enhancing international cooperation.
