Officers of the Administration for Economic Security and Corruption Control were reported about a resident of Nefteyugansk who could be involved in money misappropriation. In the course of the check, the police found evidence for that information.
Policemen established that the 32-year old local woman working as a jewelry inspector in a pawnshop of the city had been misappropriating funds from November 2017 until December 2018 abusing her job position. The suspect had been carrying out her illegal activity acting in two ways. She did not return cash to the cash register after clients took their property out of pawn. The second way she had been using was repawning of jewelry at other pawnshops, after which she misappropriated the earnings. The inflicted damage exceeded two million rubles.
By the moment, the suspect has given written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly. The authorities initiated a criminal case based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Part 4 Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction under the incriminated article provides for up to 10-year imprisonment.
