In the west of the capital, operatives detained suspects in burglaries

“Criminal Investigation Officers of the MIA of Russia Division for the Fili-Davydkovo District of the city of Moscow detained non-working women-guests of the city aged 31 and 34 suspected of thefts from apartments of pensioners,” said the official representative of the Russian MIA Irina Volk.
“A 89-year-old Muscovite applied to the territorial police division with a statement on the theft. He said that two unknown women came to his house, and introduced themselves as employees of a gas company. The offenders informed him on the need for a routine inspection of gas equipment. After their departure, the pensioner discovered that 400 thousand rubles disappeared,” said Irina Volk.
A few days later, a 71-year-old Muscovite turned to the police with a similar statement. According to her, after the check of the gas equipment by two unknown women, she discovered the disappearance of her wrist watch.
The investigation unit of the MIA of Russia Division for the Fili-Davydkovo district of Moscow initiated criminal cases on the grounds of the crimes provided for by Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
As a result of the operational search activities carried out by officers of the criminal investigation unit, the suspects were detained on the Ostashkovskaya street of Moscow. Remand in custody was selected by Court as the preventive measure for the suspects.
Currently the police implement measures aimed at identifying possible accomplices and additional episodes of the suspects’ criminal activity.
