Polish President Andrzej Duda sent condolences to the Governor General Patsy Reddy following the terrorist attacks that took place on Friday in Christchurch, New Zealand.

At least 49 people were killed and around 25 wounded in shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that the highest level of security alert has been introduced across the country.

“I was deeply saddened and moved to receive the appalling reports of the bestial acts of violence that took place today in Christchurch,” President Duda wrote in the condolence letter sent to Governor General Patsy Reddy.

In the letter, President Duda also wrote that “on behalf of myself and the Polish people, I express my sincere sympathy to all families, loved ones and close relatives of victims of this tragedy. We hope that the wounded will recover to full of strength.” (PAP)
