French News: Les prix à la consommation en janvier 2019 devraient être de 1,4% plus élevés qu’en janvier 2018

Comme indiqué par l’Office fédéral de la statistique (Destatis), selon les résultats disponibles à ce jour, les prix à la consommation devraient baisser de 0,8% par rapport à décembre 2018. L’indice des prix à la consommation harmonisé pour l’Allemagne, calculé pour les besoins de l’Europe, devrait augmenter de 1,7% en janvier 2019 par rapport à l’année précédente et devrait diminuer de 1,0% par rapport à décembre 2018. Remarque: révision de l’indice des prix à la consommation en Allemagne. L’indice des prix à la consommation est examiné à intervalles réguliers et converti en une nouvelle année de base. La date de référence sera janvier 2019 et la conversion de la base 2010 à la base 2015. Les indices de prix à la consommation seront recalculés rétroactivement à partir de janvier 2015. New orders in main construction industry in November 2018: +6.1% seasonally adjusted on the previous month

Enlarge picture WIESBADEN – The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that price-adjusted new orders in the main construction industry in November 2018 increased a seasonally and working-day adjusted 6.1% on October 2018.
In building construction and civil and underground engineering, in establishments of enterprises with 20 or more persons, new orders increased by 13.8% in nominal terms compared with the corresponding month of the previous year.

At the end of 2017, the figure was 82.8 million. Most common internet activity: search for information on goods and services

WIESBADEN – 91% of internet users searched the internet for information on goods and services for private purposes in the first quarter of 2018. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was the most common internet activity, followed closely by e-mail communication (89%). The roughly 64 million internet users also looked for health-related information (66%), watched videos offered by video sharing services like YouTube (64%), did online banking (59%), made (video) calls for example via Skype, Facetime, WhatsApp or Viber (57%) and used social networks such as Twitter, Facebook or Instagram (56%). Internet users focussed on different online activities depending on their age group.

240 traffic accident fatalities in November 2018

WIESBADEN – In November 2018, a total of 240 people died in road traffic accidents in Germany. Based on provisional figures, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a decrease of 4 people compared with November 2017. Producer prices in December 2018: +2.7% on December 2017

In 2017 the index had increased by 2.7% compared with 2016, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
Results of December 2018In December 2018 the index of producer prices for industrial products rose by 2.7% compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In November the annual rate of change all over had been 3.3%.
Compared with the preceding month November the overall index decreased by 0.4% in December 2018 (+0.1% in November 2018 and +0.3% in October 2018).
In December 2018 the price indices of all main industrial groups increased compared with December 2017: Energy prices rose by 6.9%. Prices of intermediate goods as well as of durable consumer goods increased by 1.9%. Prices of capital goods were up 1.4% and of non-durable consumer goods by 0.5%.
The overall index disregarding energy was 1.6% up on December 2017 and unchanged compared with November 2018.

Turnover in accommodation and food service activities in November 2018 in real terms: +2.5% to November 2017

Enlarge picture WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), turnover in the German accommodation and food service activities in November 2018 increased by 2.5% in real terms and by 5.0% in nominal terms compared with the corresponding month of the previous year.
Compared with the same period in the previous year, turnover in the German accommodation and food service activities increased by 1.2% in real terms and by 3.4% in nominal terms in the first eleven months of 2018.
After adjustment for calendar and seasonal effects (Census X-12-ARIMA) the turnover in November 2018 was in real terms 0.1% and in nominal terms 0.4% higher than that in the previous month.

Fast internet in enterprises: Germany once again held a middle position in the EU in 2018

WIESBADEN – Nearly half (51%) of all German enterprises with internet access and a minimum of 10 persons employed had fast internet access in 2018. This refers to fixed broadband connections with a contractually agreed data transfer speed of at least 30 megabits per second (Mbps). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that, as in the previous years, Germany retained its mid-table position in Europe. The average proportion of enterprises with fast internet access in the EU Member States was slightly lower (48%).

Flights during the summer of 2018: 2.7 million more air passengers travelled abroad compared with the previous year

WIESBADEN – A total of 66.2 million air passengers travelled from Germany to foreign countries during the summer schedule from April to October 2018. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was an increase in passengers of just over 2.7 million, or 4.3%, compared with the summer schedule of 2017. However, domestic air travel declined by 2.3%. The number of boarded passengers in air transport as a whole increased by 3.0% to 80.5 million during the summer of 2018. In the summer of 2017, the number of air passengers had amounted to 78.1 million.
